Course Description

In this course you'll get hands-on experience with Amazon's hosted NoSQL database, DynamoDB. After a series of hands-on coding activities, you'll create a real-world, data-driven application while gaining an understanding of DynamoDB's advantages and differences.

Course Outline

Set up and configuration of DynamoDB tables
Understanding capacity planning and capacity alerts
Schema design in a NoSQL context
Understanding DynamoDB's consistency model
Reading and writing data using the DynamoDB APIs
Practical, hands-on examples of creating web applications that use DynamoDB as a data store

The language of instruction for this course is PHP.

Prerequisites

Web Programming with PHP (Part A) recommended
An Amazon Web Services account. Amazon requires a credit card and identity verification (via automated phone call) to create an account.

Taught online. Instructor-led.
