Creating Google Chrome Apps and Extensions is an instructor-led course geared toward those with HTML, CSS and JavaScript experience. You’ll learn the architecture and capabilities of the Chrome browser and its extensions, how to implement browser actions and page actions, creating custom context menus, debugging, and packaging Chrome apps for the Chrome Web Store.

  • Creating extension manifests
  • Implementing browser actions (to run your extension from the browser toolbar) and page actions (to insert icons in the browser address bar)
  • Creating custom context menus
  • Pop-up notifications
  • Implementing user-defined options
  • Packaging extensions
  • Persistence using the HTML5 web storage API
  • Debugging extensions
  • Submitting your extension to the gallery
  • Packaging Chrome apps for publishing in the Chrome Web Store

Duration and Format

Four weeks. Taught online. Instructor-led.
